As you might know in blogger world and true fashion follower world, Nordstrom holds a yearly sale that gives loyal shoppers great discounts. It’s a little different from normal retail as in, select new items for fall go ‘on sale’ first and are a discounted price, and then after the sale, prices go up. If you are a loyal blog follower, you know that my wardrobe is not restricted to strictly Nordstrom and I usually get certain pieces here and there from them. This is how I look at it when it comes to this sale. It’s the time to get certain items that are investment pieces or statement pieces, that you will wear all winter and possibly for various seasons. Some of the top things to get during this sale are boots, every day shoes, handbags, a leather jacket, your favorite brand-name jeans and outerwear.
The Nordstrom sale starts today for cardholders, opens to the public on July 21st, and runs until August 8th. Items do sell out quickly during the first week and it’s advised to purchase what you are thinking about sooner than later. You can always return and exchange, and I can notify you of restock, but the key to getting your perfect size in that perfect item you want, is to shop early.
I have picked out my favorites for you below, organized by category. One thing that I will say, is that these are items I think are worth the sale price, and important to a wardrobe. I’m not the type of blogger to pick out every day items that you can get way cheaper somewhere else, and hopefully that’s why you follow me. You know I’m all about basics from H&M, random finds at Target, ASOS (of course) or even Nordstrom Rack, that are possibly a little more edgy. But this sale is about the deals that you can get on quality investment pieces, or staples that will last! The deals are worth it for what the items are, and everything I hand picked out, are items worth either: investing in, getting here and not a cheapo site, styles to scoop up now!
A few little style secrets that I have seen a trend starting for fall are: the color grey in handbags and shoes, marigold velvet in ANYTHING – I’m predicting this to be fall’s ‘it’ color, jeans with an asymmetrical hem (not hi-lo like last year, but slanted), long cardis (again, duh), and any type of mules!
