An Outfit-us For The Rest Of Us!

I say this because this is a pretty basic outfit that everyone can try, and it will work for all body types. We’ve got a cream blouse that is a closet staple (longer in the back is my favorite), a fall colored blanket scarf, some hi-lo skinny destroyed denim… mine are DIY by the way. And then the icing on the cake is THIS SHOE. I am capsing it BECAUSE I AM ACTUALLY SCREAMING AT YOU. I cannot get enough crushed velvet, and who can get enough shoes?! Put those two together and it’s a dream come true. As well as the price. This is an example of something that is on major trend, kind of trendy (there’s a difference in those two phrases), and you’re not sure if it will be around next year, so my advice is to find the bargain. Steve Madden and a couple other brands are doing the velvet bootie, and this one is exactly like it, for a quarter of the price. Make Me Chic does it pretty well and I know it’s difficult to get sizing right if you order from overseas. I ordered a half size up but I’m not sure that made a difference or not. They do fit great and the material feels perfect, in case you’re apprehensive in any way.

I switched the shoes in this outfit to a more practical version, and love the preppy polished look they create. I absolutely love these, and actually more than I thought I would. I would only wear them with a crop/ankle skinny jean, as they are already masculine and you don’t want the bottom half of you to look bulky. They are so comfortable inside with cushioning, and the ties just top it all off! These would go with dress pants/editor pants for work too, as long as they are not boot cut or cover the shoe at all. They are meant to be seen!

Have a wonderful weekend, thank you for stopping by! We have Robert’s work Christmas party tonight and I feel awful… I’m still not sure if I can rally. But a chance to dress up and talk to adults? Yes please!
