Preparing for Grannylife: With Diamonds

The other day, my girlfriend at work and I were talking about how we are not typically girls who like all things diamonds, tennis bracelets, and matchy matchy diamond sets… just not our generation. But what if we could customize exactly what we wanted? Actually yes, then. We also joked about how we did want to be those grannies dripping in diamonds while we are hugging our 80 grandchildren in our Chanel clad tweed separates.

So I was thinking, every girl should have some sort of collection, whether it be what has been given to you from a family member that passed it down, or your own gift, made for you. While planning for my own wedding, I was looking for something special I could wear in addition to my engagement ring and band. It took me forever to find something pretty, but also with meaning. I think a lot of brides have this problem, they want to wear something that was possibly passed down, or ‘borrowed’, or even a special gift from their fiance. I ended up wearing a fun blingy bracelet for flash, and a brooch of my grandmothers that was passed down. And that is what I want to do as well, because passing down fashion and style, and something with meaning and quality is important to me as a fashionista and girly girl, and I know was to my grandmother and mother as well because it is so much part of who we are.

My diamond soulmate future-granny friend was telling me about how her grandfather gave her glamorous grandmother a piece of jewelry every anniversary, and how the grandkids looked forward to seeing what she was going to get, and how special it was. What a cute story, and to also have history and something really nice to pass through generations. I started to think about what would be the perfect pieces that would work for years to come, as a gift for a special occasion. And knowing me, I don’t like mainstream, I am particular, so I need the option to have something I can pick out that goes with my style. I do have a place that can do all this, check out Anjolee. They provide hand crafted, custom jewelry that include diamond rings, wedding and anniversary bands, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and more.  I love having the option to customize a piece of jewelry from an e-commerce site like Anjolee because you get exactly what you want!

My 2nd anniversary is coming up along with so many other brides I know that were married in the Fall. Diamonds are always an alternative to an anniversary gift… because those are a gift that will indeed last forever. And maybe you want to start planning that wardrobe for Thanksgiving 2045.

They also have a ton of hoop earring options, for some extra bling in a style that is coming back! These are my favs.

  1. I love this and it is so true! It is about quality over quantity when it comes to jewelry for me and since college, before I pick anything out to ask for as a gift, I ask myself “would this be a piece I can see my great-great-granddaughter wearing?” Girliness and family is everything! I want each piece to be loved forever
