ThredUP is an online consignment store that you can shop, buy, and sell your items on. I love consignment store shopping, and I used to have the time to really look and find wonderful things. I don’t have that luxury anymore (since taking 2 kids into even a quick Target run is borderline dangerous) so this is the next best thing. It’s also a great place to get quality items you might have loved awhile back and still think about… am I the only one this happens to? The site makes it so easy to search for them, but it’s also a great place to grab some outfits for a really great price. I think one of the best ways to add to your closet or refresh your wardrobe is with quality pieces, and this is one way to be able to do that affordably.
A few finds I want to highlight:
The coveted Zara plaid scarf that every boutique all over the world copied, this is an original and in excellent condition and $13!
A Celine silk scarf for $100!
One caveat to this site is that you could get overwhelmed. There is so much merchandise and so many pages, and you do want to find what would work for you without getting burned out looking. I suggest using the filters. If you want to search for dresses, or jeans, type in brands or colors that you love. I knew I wanted to shop among my favorite brands because I know how they fit. Some of the filters I used were Anthropologie (every brand they sell fell under this… so great!), J. Crew, AG jeans, designer category (to browse a little), and scarves.
J.Crew magenta suede flats: $16.49
J. Crew linen striped top: $21.99
AG flare jean: $33.49
Citizens of Humanity skinny jean: $25.99
And since I was a first time shopper, I got 20% off my order, making my total under $80 for 4 things, all wardrobe staples. It’s a great place to look first if you want a specific piece of clothing before you pay full price at the big retailers, or if you want a few things to refresh your wardrobe.
