Valentine’s Day Essentials: How to have the best month ever

When it comes to Valentine’s Day, do you love it or hate it? I feel like times have changed and it’s not such a 2-extreme-stigma. Everyone can love Valentine’s Day… well, every girl. Now that Galentine’s is an actual official holiday (it is, google it), we can all be excited about a dreary month at the beginning of the year where we get to raid the Target dollar bins for all things hearts, wear pink and red ad nauseum, and eat chocolate. Sign me up for that, I LOVE this month!

Actually, I think I was single for 1 Valentine’s Day in my adult dating life and it wasn’t a big deal. Growing up my mom always made it special with little cards or confetti at breakfast. Valentine’s honestly always meant that there would be Cadburry mini eggs on some shelf or another and more pink stationary to play with. Now, February is one of the best months, as it’s when my sweet Jackson was born. I will forever be excited to make his birthday fun and get him excited to have a day about him. And on days I get to go to Target alone, having all the cute random pink stuff that no one needs is a great way to spend February to me. My ideal Valentine’s Day will somehow include pizza, my 3 Valentine’s, and maybe a full night’s sleep! hint hint Robert… canisleepin?….

If you are wanting to take full advantage of this month and let your #basicb out to play, I rounded up a few things that will make us all happy. I have everything from cheap Target tees, heart pillows, expensive sweaters that are oh so cute and picture worthy, cozy cardigans, and some winter to spring basics that are the perfect color palette for this month!

Here are a few additional ways to enjoy this holiday:

-go to Target and walk around (duh) #dollarspot

-check out my new favorite online show/podcast The Morning Breath – binge it and you will thank me later!

-watch Mean Girls

-type in ‘Somethings Gotta Give’ into Netflix and peruse all of the Rich White Lady Movie options (this is also a Morning Breath reference, my new favorite online podcast)

-order a pizza just for yourself

-eat chocolate

-wear pink on pink on pink and feel happy about it

-go to Costco for the samples

-go to the mall and windowshop as a mall walker

-get a pedicure

If any of these sound fun to you, then we are for sure friends! Let’s have some girly fun this month, because after all, February is totally for us girls…
