Have you ever stood in front of your closet for a very long time, staring at a million clothes, thinking you have no clue what to wear? I used to do this before work, which is actually one of the reasons I started my fashion blog. Because I would look at all of my clothes and realize I had everything to wear, and I needed to be creative in how I wore it. So I began to experiment and start pairing random things together and have fun with it. I worked in the Airwatch office at the time, with a lot of guys. Needless to say, they definitely didn’t ‘get it’ and my creativity got lost in translation. I didn’t care, but as my blog was born, it finally became a place to channel that creativity. Today, we are talking about a few things you can wear to the office that you don’t have to think about. We will get creative as fall comes and the weather starts cooling down and we can start to layer. Then all rules get thrown out the window and you will see me circa Joey from friends… ‘can I BE wearing any more clothes?!’
One go-to item for the office that you can put with a bunch of different accessories and layers, is the classic shirtdress. You cannot go wrong with one, and the shirtdress is actually one of my most favorite staple items because it can work for anyone! This one is H&M and could not be found online (don’t worry, I’ll keep looking because it’s so amazing), but is for sure in stores. I paired boots with it, but for a more polished look, a classic pump is perfect. When it gets colder, I will layer this with either a quilted vest, fur vest, or long cardigan. You could even do a slouchy cardigan, have the collar peak out and bottom show kind of like a skirt. I love the striped pattern on this, even though oddly is not something my eye is normally drawn to. But if you are going to wear any kind of vertical stripe at all, a shirtdress is the perfect place to do it, because it will be slimming on a normally boxy kind of silhouette.
I found a few other options for you in the ‘shop the post’ below that would be perfect for the office now, and will especially take you into the layering season!
