2020 Nursery Decor Trends
Nurseries are something most of us moms go all out on. Probably for many different reasons, they were definitely different for me. With Jackson my first baby, I of course wanted a cute nursery because I was a first time mom. With Elston I had a feeling she wouldn’t be my last baby, but she was also my first girl, so for obvious reasons, I really went to town and had so much fun decorating a nursery. Now for Gable, who is my last baby, I went all out because… she’s my last baby and last time at decorating a nursery. So… I suppose it’s always something lol. So many moms can say half the fun of having and anticipating a new baby, is designing a nursery. So what are the trends? Well, my friends at Project Nursery are going over what they are seeing, as they are experts on this! This site has literally everything for baby and kids, and it’s all so chic! Especially their new Project Nursery wallpaper line!
Project Nursery Wallpaper
I have seen nursery decor trends over the past few years, some things come and go, and some things pretty much stick around. Remember when the trend was all one gender color? Or just super baby-ish stuff like in the 80’s with ducks and baby bottles?! Thank goodness trends have changed!
A few trends that I see that are so ‘in’ right now are genderless nurseries (I’m seeing a lot of white, blacks, and beige), funky designs (very modern and sleek, or like art deco), a statement rug, white gliders/chairs (white is here to stay), and then what I’ll touch on today: Wallpaper!
Wallpaper is no longer a thing of the past, it’s back and chicer than ever. I knew I wanted to put an accent wallpapered wall up in Gable’s nursery. I mean, I want to wallpaper my entire house… so I figured I would start here. I fell in love with Project Nursery‘s selection of wallpaper. I mean, truly check it out, it’s all beautiful! You can definitely put most of these anywhere, they are not limited to just a nursery. I already had a friend order the pattern I got for a space in her house, and she doesn’t have kids. The best part is that it’s peel and stick, making the application so easy!
We still worried about lining up the pattern, and making sure there were no bubbles, but if we messed up, we could peel and start over in the area. The biggest issue was having an uneven ceiling, which is something the instructions warn you about, but I would have never thought about! So we started with a little overlap at the top to accommodate for this.
