A Low-Key New Year’s Eve

Over the years, my plans for New Year’s Eve has changed drastically. I remember when it was actually a huge deal as far as plans, who I was going to spend it with, and what I was going to wear. I think it all comes in waves of seasons, and it will be a big deal again, but right now with young kids, low-key is best all around. This year we decided to stay in and make some of our favorite foods. Whole Foods sponsored my instagram post and we got to try so many great things that they sell like sturgeon caviar and their fresh lobster tails. We made a charcuterie board which is probably my favorite thing of all time. I love that you can get creative with it, and basically do it a whole bunch of ways. Scroll down and you can see a bit from my shopping trip, our very beautiful charcuterie board, to how we celebrated the new year!

When working on the perfect charcuterie board, we have found that you need something everyone loves. When it comes to taste preferences, have something neutral like a few different crackers, salty items, then things a little bit sweet. We also make sure to include a fruit we like, which I had seen these ranier cherries and since they are my absolute favorite, I had to get them. We also always have a few different cheese textures, such as a hard cheese, a soft one, and one in between. And presentation is truly everything with a charcuterie board because having it look awesome, makes you happy to eat it! I pulled out a cutting board that is part marble and part wood, making for the perfect board to serve, but also perfect charcuterie board vibes!

We then made sure we had confetti and the kids absolutely loved it!

I hope you all had a wonderful New Year’s Eve and day, doing something you love. I look forward to a great 2019, and I hope you will follow along!
