Eyelet Ruffle Top
Who loves eyelet?! And ruffles?! And mom jeans… well, I think the answer is split on that last one. So here’s the deal: mom jeans are back and can be flattering, you just have to find the right ones. Luckily I found them for you. I will speak to 2 different price point mom jeans. Mine are American Eagle and the fit is exactly what I want in a ‘mom jean’ style. I actually looked for awhile for the perfect jean and tried on a ton. I have tried every high rise Levi’s there are right now, and while they are so cute and on trend, they didn’t come where I wanted at the ankle. I wanted the perfect light wash, a slight stretch, but not too stretchy that they fit like jeggings. I tried Abercrombie’s and loved the rise and butt, but there were too wide at the calf. I wanted a tapered ankle. Not too high and not too long. I wanted a great rise that was actually comfortable. I’m telling you I tried on practically every brand and found 2 that gives exactly what you want in this trend. My AE ones are great because they checked all the boxes that I was looking for and the price is completely right. They are $39! The only downside is the logo on the back pocket. And for some this is a deal breaker, and that some is usually me. But they fit so well for the price that I couldn’t pass them up. I have seriously considered stripping the pockets with a seam ripper haha. There is another option and that is my trusty Madewell. They make a great one too, but I couldn’t dive right into the price unless I knew I loved this trend. Which I do now but I had to make sure it made sense with my body type. I will most likely be getting these next! So both are worth trying out, and you be the judge on what works for you!
Now let’s talk about this eyelet ruffle top. You might have seen it around town and for double the price! This one is light and soft cotton. It wrinkles easily but can also be fixed easily with a steamer. I love it tucked into high waist jeans, even dark skinny ones. You can wear it with high waist skirts or dress pants for work. I would probably even pair it with some cut-off denim shorts. White is my go-to color and feel as thought you can’t go wrong with anything white. I accessorized with more white and kept a silver theme because I was feeling that with the light denim. My earrings are a fun statement earring from the new Kendra Scott collection and my sandals are the new Marc Fisher. You might have seen a few around on some bloggers as we are Marc Fisher ambassadors this spring and all styling the cutest sandals all different ways. I prefer a flat because #kids so I’m always on the look out for funky or fun ones. You should actually check out the Marc Fisher site right now because they have some really reallyyyyy cute shoes lately. (like THESE, omg I must have them)
