Forever Staple: The Classic White Button Down
I have preached this for years. I think you can search in the right search bar ‘white oxford’ etc, and so many posts will come up. The white button down is probably my all-time favorite piece of clothing, and always a staple.
White Button Down Shirt
Normally, I have always worn a white button down as a long-sleeved, but Madewell has always done this really good short sleeved one, so it’s worth a try. This is great with jeans for spring while it’s still chilly, and then with shorts or even over a swimsuit in the summer. The material is really nice and thick, but it’s cotton, so you won’t be sweating in polyester. I also know this crisp white top looks a lot better with a tan, but since I am going to be pale for awhile, here we are.
I accessorized with a statement bag with a vibrant color and my favorite; a nude shoe, usually flat with a pointed toe. I probably have 12 different variations on this style in my closet but it’s my go-to.
My jeans are technically a ‘mom jean’, and a new style for Madewell too. I tried them apprehensively as most of my Madewell jeans are high waist and skinnier. The fit on these are ok, I think I like my H&M ones better in how they fit, which is very different for me as I’ve been ride-or-die Madewell since the beginning. These are almost a true mom jean in that it doesn’t define the shape FOR you, as the H&M ones are higher rise, give a true waist, shape the bum, and are a bit longer in the leg. So that’s my unofficial review!
