Holiday Style with Carter’s
This post is sponsored by Carter’s; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
It’s definitely true what they say about kids making the holidays fun and magical. The age Jackson and Elston are right now might be hard day to day, but it can definitely be fun especially for holidays. We have the chance to create our own traditions as well as pass down a few nostalgic things that are important to Robert and I. I am half Jewish, so I grew up with a lot of different cultures and traditions that mean a lot to me as I came into my own. Really holidays (any holiday all year) are more about tradition for me, and want the kids to be able to have wonderful memories and a sense of home and stability in our own family traditions. That’s just what works for us, and we are figuring it out as we go. So for now, as they are young and innocent, I want to provide magic and love for them until they need something different.
It’s so cool to get the kids excited for something, and have them remember or understand what is going on. Last year, Jackson was old enough to kind of understand a few things in the moment, but not exactly the big picture. It was pretty much the year of watching Charlie Brown Christmas on repeat, and Jackson memorizing the entire thing. Let’s also note that although nostalgic especially the music, it’s definitely not PC enough for today (note: Lucy says ‘stupid‘ a lot, haha). This year, I feel like Jackson is truly the best age. He knows it might snow, that Santa is coming to his school this week and he gets to tell him what he wants, and that presents come on Christmas Day (whenever that is, in Jackson’s mind, he’s not quite sure). Elston is saying full sentences and just goes along with anything Jackson does and says. Both scream about 95% of the time when around each other at home, yet they are said to be inseparable on the playground at school when they see each other. Every meal is a fight, and some days we live on yogurt and our go-to of chicken nuggets. Each night one child is in our bed by 4am. The days are long, the nights are longer, but this is honestly the best time of our lives, and it’s about to get even more magical.
Every year, I get the kids new pajamas from Carter’s. Our Carter’s holiday post from last year was our ‘pink Christmas’, and so so cute, the kids were so little! This year, I couldn’t help but get matching pajamas of course, and loved these Santa pj’s. I’ve talked about why I love Carter’s pajamas before, and it’s because of the patterns and of course the price. We can get so many pairs that last us for a year or two, so that’s definitely an investment. We are also at the age where they have some say about what they want to wear, so having cool images or things they like on them, matters because it helps the getting dressed process! They pretty much have a pattern for every holiday so that makes it fun for them, and then for me for pictures, obviously. You need to grab your holiday pajamas now so you can get the most out of the festive looks or shop their Black Friday deals, which start on 11/17, because the holidays are here!
**Carter’s and OshKosh B’gosh are also giving away over $700,000 in Dash Cash to the first 100 people to visit their local Carter’s or OshKosh B’gosh store for the Dash In to Win Sweepstakes. The Sweepstakes will
