Tresemme Between Washes: How I Get My Hair To Last For 5 Days Without Washing
This Tresemme Between Washes post is sponsored by Kroger, all thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting brands that allow City Peach to run full-time.
There is such a thing as training your hair how to look great even without washing it for 5 days. And I know it sounds crazy, but I’m going to explain a few things. If you are willing to work at it, it’s possible. Just like anything, your hair and body has to get used to it. I am listing a few questions I get when I do tell people I try to go as long as possible. One thing I will say is that, a lot of times, it’s when I don’t have anything major going on. But for the most part, I can make it look cute… I have ways of working this hair system. I also have always felt this way since I have highlighted my hair since I was about 16 (meant to be blonde so I made it work lol), so I actively try not to fry it anymore.
Here’s a few tips and info into my hair and our life together:
- Yes, I still shower. (I just put it in a bun, and if the sides get wet, I blow dry those which helps look fresh) Sometimes, I purposely get my wispys wet or even an inch or two back, so that I do blow dry and smooth out the very top since, on me, can get the most oily, especially in the summertime.
- I have thin hair, so it’s still possible for it to not get completely greasy. I have a lot of hair, so it does help… but if you don’t, product helps even more. I believe any kind of product helps create a barrier as well as a healthy thickness.
- I do think that the longer I go, the darker my roots start to look… so I save really dirty hair days at the end, for hair styles like braids or just up in a cute pony with barrettes.
- I sleep with my hair in a twisted bun on top of my head. I usually use a scrunchie because it’s soft and prevents breakage, but I have used a claw clip a lot too. I just clip the bun at the very top of my head… it actually works the best, but isn’t always comfortable.
- Use a silk pillowcase. This helps reduce creases and helps even out oil. It also helps keep volume at the roots because everything isn’t flat and in once place all night.
- Get a great product that you will work onto your roots each day. I have used hair spray up until recently. I tried out the Fresh & Clean Dry Shampoo from the Tresemme Between Washes Collection and liked it. The objective is to absorb excess oil and eliminate odors. The main thing I liked was that it didn’t leave residue which was why I always steered clear of dry shampoo in the past. The smell is a bit citrusy which I had to get used to because I’m more of a salon chemical girl lol… I worked in a salon in high school and just love the smell of all of it! I spray the dry shampoo mainly on my roots everywhere, not just at the top. When my extensions are in, I spray a little on the tips of my real hair so it stays blended with my extensions which do not get oily.
- I don’t use dry shampoo after my first wash because I like almost having stages of my hair. The first few days I have a lot of movement and like for it to fall wherever. As the days go on, it is easier to style in braids or updos and the dry shampoo definitely helps with that because it’s working with my hair’s natural oils, as well as adds texture. You can find this specific line at Kroger in the beauty aisle (check it out HERE), and they are having a deal right now where you buy $15 and save $5 in store! It’s definitely worth the try, and Tresemme is always a reputable brand in the fashion world, so I’m always willing to try their latest products.
In the next week, I am compiling all the hair/extension questions I have gotten in a blog post for you! I love changing my hair up often, and want to show you that you can too! I have a bunch sent in from my IG stories, but if you have any that you would like to know, whether it’s pertaining to color, cut, hair care, or all about extensions, leave a comment below or send me an email!
