How To Be A Good Mom: Humorous Edition
I read this on the internet (on my girl Brittney’s instagram) and laughed out loud, so thought I would share it:
‘Being a wife and a mother isn’t easy. You gotta cook, clean, not kill your offspring, drop it like it’s hot on request, coupon, budget funds, feed the baby, go to doctor’s appointments, wash your ass, deep condition your hair, drink water, eat your fruits and vegetables, survive off 35 seconds of sleep, keep your baseboards clean, wash clothes, wash dishes, keep your skin clear, stay off crack, highlight and contour, clothe your children, praise God, exercise, have legit eyebrows, teach your children, look good, and read books. I cant do all that at the same time. I just can’t.’
This didn’t even take into account running your own business, which I guess counts as another child for me. That is where I’m at with that… my blog business is my 3rd child for now. So here are my thoughts lately: Every day with toddlers gets harder and easier at the same time. I am absolutely loving age 4 and spending time with Jackson is so enjoyable. Elston is the most adorable, even through her little sassiness, which happens a lot lately because she is 2 in every aspect! A lot of times both kids are crazier when together and more calm (less fighting) when they are separated. They do always ask about each other the whole time so I do love it that way because my whole intent with giving them a sibling is for them to be close. As we are on this beach vacation this week, it’s easier than year’s past since the kids are older and a little more independent. For the past 3 years, life has been hard as they have demanded constant physical attention or worry (falling, crawling, walking). This week has been really fun though and has taught me that overall, this is the best season of life and to stop and enjoy is as much as I can. I get stressed out often and have to remind myself that it’s not a huge deal. I get frustrated when I get behind on work because blog life and online life never sleeps. That is what I wrestle with as a mother… the balance of it all. I still work at trying to achieve some kind of balance and literally fail every day. So as I am writing this at Starbucks while the babes play with grandma and grandpa, I am catching up on work, realizing I am doing this so I can be present with them. We will enjoy the little joys of the beach and swimming this afternoon and I will be caught up for the day… until tomorrow. ha! #motherhoodis24/7 #andsoisbloglife
So my answer for how to be a good mom and succeed is just keep trying because I’m not sure anyone really has it figured out!
