Kids Kicks and Hot Chocolate Dates
I love winter so much, and am loving the activities we can do as a family now that the kids are a little older. The excitement they have for everything means so much to me, because I remember I spent years alone wanting to share that same excitement. They are truly a gift in life and I love sharing everything with them. Lately we have been going to Avalon specifically for hot chocolate and to walk around seeing the lights and fire pit. Normally in the warmer weather, we go for pizza and then the playground, but this is a nice little change up.
Recently I found out about this program called Easy Kicks, which is a sneak club for kids. Both Jackson and Elston got new Nike shoes through this, and I love the concept because you donate your old pair once you grow out of them. This is a cool lesson to teach them too, in that shoes that don’t fit them can go to kids in foster care or families in need. And if you’re like us, most of the shoes the kids grow out of are still in pretty good condition! I got Jackson these Nike Cortez’s because they are my favorite style for him! They are sleek enough to go with dress clothes but perfect for his lifestyle which is school and the playground! He’s had a white pair and a red/white/blue pair in his life, and they all outlasted his use for them. Elston’s little slip ons are something I had actually been searching for. She can put them on herself and so far, I had not found a shoe that would be this easy to do this! These are both the kids’ go-to shoes and I love that I can just order them easily. They come with a prepaid envelope to send your old shoes back to them, and from there, they will donate to those in need. I honestly love this, and they aren’t even sponsoring this blog post. We are working together on an instagram post that will go live tonight, but I really wanted to share a little bit about it here. The prices are just like any other place you would purchase your kids’ shoes, and they do have sales, so give this a try if you want to try something different!
You will be able to shop my coat and outfit details below! This is another Shein statement coat that I am loving to spice up your wardrobe!
If you’re interested in the kids kicks program, you can check them out HERE. I think the concept speaks to the way we all cycle through our clothes, and this gives us a chance to give back while teaching our kids about that through action.
We are loving this hot chocolate at Avalon Cafe Antico, because you know me and my foodie ways. It’s homemade as well as their whipped cream, and that won me over. It tastes divine, and with all the lights, it’s a special little outing not too crazy to take toddlers for a night out!
