Kidstyle: Back To School With Oshkosh
It’s Back to School season, which ever since I was little, was always SO exciting. Why? Mainly for the fashion and choosing your ‘back to school outfits’. Personally I loved school and I hope to pass that down to my kids, beyond the clothes… but who doesn’t get excited about clothes!? This school year I have teamed up with OshKosh to bring you our back to school style, learning what your kids love, and finding that unique style at OshKosh!
We had a whirlwind summer this summer and really feel like we lived it up with the kids. We went on two completely opposite trips, one to the beach, and then a roadtrip to Michigan. Jackson learned to swim this summer and we had been living at the pool any free moment we got. Right before school started, we decided to get some family pictures in. Which basically means go somewhere pretty, let the kids run wild and hope to get some good shots! This was finally my year for the sunflower field and we made it happen. A little backstory is that I’ve tried to take photos there for 3 years. 2 years in a row we went literally the day after they all got cut down, and one year we managed to shoot with a bunch of dead sunflowers, haha! This one is by our house and I made myself well-aware of the schedule this year, so we decided to go for it. Every got dressed in their ‘back to school’ outfits, perfect for them, and it happened to all tie together!
disclaimer: there are a few funny things about our photos, which every family’s photoshoots has it’s challenges I’m sure! Elston has to be in the right mood, otherwise, she is a true 2 1/2 year old! She is hilarious with her shoulder shrug and turn when she’s being moody, we can’t help but laugh. Jackson is in a ham it up phase and I love it! It was hot, there were bees, but we had a lot of fun… and it was actually the best family photos to date!
This year, the kids are old enough to choose their own clothes and I love letting Jackson figure out what he loves. He is actually in the stage where he has to approve the shirt or he won’t wear it. He doesn’t like shirts with buttons (collared shirts or polos) so I try to find classic looking t-shirts that won’t look completely sloppy. OshKosh seems to get that as their graphic tees are cool, modern, and not too flashy! Jackson jumped at this plane shirt and I loved the color because it was bright yet soft. For school this year, Jackson is in a uniform but gets a free day every Friday, so we had fun picking up some back to school outfits that he could have complete control over!
Elston’s outfit was a bit more guided by me, haha, but she still lets me so I’ll try! I have actually always wanted to get this little overall dress from OshKosh. It’s for sure a brand classic and I’ve loved it for years, but she was never really tall enough yet to not trip over a dress. I love this one because it’s breathable, comfortable, and stylish. You can’t ever go wrong with eyelet! Elston loves anything that is a skirt right now, so she was all about it. I found the perfect polo shirt for her too that was just the right amount of girly, but can go under basically anything. OshKosh is always a thicker and sturdier cotton, making all our OshKosh clothes last long after they grow out of it!
