All You Need To Know About Microblading at Brows by Millys
You have probably heard of this trend by now that has all of the sudden become popular and possibly even more so among your favorite bloggers. Why? Well, just like any beauty fad, we want the best and most effective ways to look better. However, Microblading has been around for quite some time and there are a few important pieces of information to know before you consider it. If you are completely new to the concept, you can read more about it here, but basically it’s tiny feather like strokes into the skin that are color pigmented and last about a year. It is not a full tattoo, but rather fills in your brows with marks that look like hairs!
When I first decided I wanted to do this, the main reason was because brows are everything to a face my brows are very light. Once I discovered drawing them in a few years ago, it just became another long step to my routine in getting ready in the morning. The hilarious thing, that still makes me laugh when looking at the pictures (below), is that I truly was not doing myself any favors when drawing in my own brows. Brows by Milly‘s girls analyze each individual’s face and do the best shape for the person! I remember when heading in, I literally was thinking of telling them what I liked them to look like, or how I prefer to have them drawn in so maybe they would mimic what I’ve been doing. HA, thank goodness I didn’t, and they probably would not have wanted that recommendation… either way, I got the most amazing shape and color for my own complexion and face structure.
Here’s one of the most important facts to tell you: I am a blogger and reviewing this service. In all transparency, I paid a media rate for materials. But here’s the deal, I would pay full-price any day to have this done by Brows by Milly again, it is 100% worth it! The quality and artistry of the team is top notch, the difference it makes in my own face is so amazing and only helps my aging process, and the time I get back from drawing in my own every. single. time. that I want to look put together is all worth it! I sought Brows by Milly out myself after researching many places in Atlanta and think they are the absolute best! I mean, they book months in advance, so that should tell you something!
First, you need to do your research on the person that is licensed to do this and make sure they are qualified, talented, and using top products. Lucky for you, I have already done this for you! When I started looking around for people in the Atlanta area, I read about a few places. I quickly realized Brows by Milly was the best place in Atlanta. A few of the reasons why, was that Milly owns the business herself so of course a self-made successful entrepreneur caught my attention. Then I read her reviews on her site and online and people were absolutely raving about her. I then inquired about products she uses, because at the time of researching, I was still nursing. She answered all my questions thoroughly and assured me the products she uses are save and all natural. Milly has been practicing for years and is extremely talented as is all of her staff that studies closely under her. Allie and Milly both worked on me so that I could recommend both of them, since they both book up quickly, Milly booking further out because she is the owner and amazing!
I would never steer you wrong on something like this, and if you are a good candidate, it’s worth the small investment! Please message me if you have any additional questions!
Here are a few facts to consider about Microblading:
-if you have super oily skin, it might not take as well and could fade sooner or need another touch up appointment. (here’s my own disclaimer: I DO have super oily skin and I did just fine!)
-do NOT use Retinol within 30 days of doing microblading
-does microblading hurt? yes and no. It definitely does but I did not realize this and helps to not really know… haha. It hurt worse on the touch up because I was preparing for it and knew what to expect. I mean, the pain hurts because it’s your face and it kind of just makes you uncomfortable in a way where your eyes water a little bit and you want to sneeze. That part was more annoying than the actual pain
-the pain part is quick where they mark the marks, then they completely numb the area before the pigment is filled in
-you cannot wash your brows for 8 days afterwards, so just prepare to wash your face in parts and with a wash cloth. It’s a little annoying at first, but you get used to it!
– you will go for an initial appointment, and then go for the touch up to fill in anything that faded about 6-8 weeks afterwards. After your touch-up, it should last you about a year!
