Nursery Reveal: Bringing Home Baby!

The plan for this post was for our gender reveal, and then revealing our beautiful nursery. Things obviously did not go as planned, but luckily, it worked out in its own way. I went in last Monday for my last ultrasound appointment, after a weekend of contracting a lot, and they basically didn’t let me go home. The contractions affected Gable’s heart rate slightly every time and they felt like it was safer for her to be delivered at 35.5 weeks instead of wait until 36.1. I don’t know if it would’ve still landed us in the NICU or not, but having been through that experience adds a whole other level to life. I spent this past week eating jello, binging BRAVO, and pumping milk to walk down the hall to our girl. What a crazy time because of COVID, the NICU was in lockdown and we couldn’t see her after the first day. It was really hard and I tried not to focus on that, but I also felt like she was protected in all this craziness, because who knows where visitors coming in and out, had been. We came home and got to decompress, see the kids, and clean the house (since we left in utter chaos thinking we still have 4 days to prepare). Gable came home yesterday and now our lives start… again, entering a different phase for us.

I hope you love the nursery, I’ve been so excited to share it. All the details are in the captions, and if you’re interested in shopping anything, it’s all below!

I’ve never had a recliner/glider for any of my children until now, believe it or not. I could not be more excited and thankful to have one now! I always wanted one with Jackson but we just couldn’t pay the price, with Elston, I almost got one, but just kept putting it off and used an oversized chair that we already had and figured it worked fine. But I always wanted to rock… so this is a field day!
I fell in LOVE with this gorgeous rug, and just loved with way it went with the wallpaper! Which, ps. wallpaper post will be coming up later this week!
This is what we will realistically use until Gable is old enough. I usually break out the thicker bumpers well after 1 year old just so their legs don’t get stuck in the crib. So until then, it’s the mesh!
This might be something that is passed up, but this humidifier heats water to ensure bacteria is killed, then uses an ultrasonic technology to create a safe mist… one stop shop at PBK!
this little Elephant was one of Jackson’s first ones. He is so so sweet and wanted Gable to have it in her bed. He even wanted his bowtie cut off and a bow put on just for her. He melts me all the time with who he is.
PBK can monogram basically anything… and this is the south, so why not!
I’ve loved these raffia heart bins for years, and finally went ahead and decorated with them!
I wanted to go with a monochromatic chic feel, but with pops of some of my favorite colors, which is shades of raspberry and turquoise.

I have sat in this room and just rocked, thinking about our family, and just basking in how lucky we are with what we do have. It’s really true about having your health… it’s everything. I am thankful we did finally get to bring home our girl. Here is a little bit of our day… I wanted it to just be for us until I shared, but now I’m ready to share with all of you. Thank you all so much for your kind words, words of encouragement, DM’s, messages, and texts. I am so thankful for this community that City Peach has created, and I thank you all for being invested, and caring, in addition to keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.

So small leaving the hospital! Bow c/o Blondes in Bows

The kids welcomed her so lovingly. They didn’t necessarily surprise me, but it did show another side to them, that possibly didn’t even exist until now. They love her so much and are so caring, wanting to touch her, pet her, and help with everything. This is the reason we tried again… now it’s the three of them in the world. Our family is complete.

Georgia just sat here for a little while, I hope she knows I love her for that.

If you’re interested in shopping any of the nursery details, you can find everything below. Pottery Barn Kids is my go-to for everything for the kids’ rooms, or supplies. Their backpacks and lunchboxes are always from there, including all their bedding… we love them! I am so thankful PBK teamed up with us to welcome our Gable into the world, and hopefully love her room for years to come.
