NYFW 2018: Red and Pink Colorblocking
Pink and Red is one of my favorite color combinations and if I’m not doing it on my own, I’m snapping up items that have it done for me! And who doesn’t love a good colorblocking, no matter what the color! I saw these pants online and took a chance on them. Here’s a tip I’m always telling my styling clients, or anyone for that matter. Forever 21 is actually an awesome resource for relevant clothes at a great price. But the website and the store are very different. Because honestly, they cater to a different audience. The mall shopper that stops into Forever 21 is typically a younger customer with different wants, fit needs, and budget. So the clothes (and usually the store chaos) reflect that. Forever 21 online has completely different items, of all price points. You will find some that are higher and the quality is really good. They even carry Levi’s online! The clothes usually are more tailored and a little different, rather than a Coachella trendy vibe if you know what I mean.
These pants and top is a perfect example of their more elevated pieces. The pants are just under $75 but do fit really great, high waist and hug all the right spots. My crochet sweater is an item that is just cool and I know I won’t find it elsewhere, but the pricepoint isn’t crazy, it was just $29. This feel of an outfit reminds me of pieces from anthro, a little different, loud, but not flimsy or cheesy in quality. One last thing to point out is these shoes which I got this summer at Anthro. They were a pair that I just thought we special and worth investing in. I love them for all occasions but worked out to complete this fun colorblocking look!
This was day 2 of NYFW and a morning visit to one of my favorite brands to work with, Lilla P. I have developed a really wonderful relationship with the Lilla P team, they are so pleasant to work with. You know when you just connect with people on so many different levels and it’s always an energetic atmosphere and conversation? That’s how it is with them! They also have the most beautiful showroom down in the Meatpacking District and always so fun to visit and eat the macarons they feed me! I worked with them this past winter if you’re interested in seeing what we did (there are a series of styled posts), you can read that HERE. Otherwise, stay tuned for more with the brand because we have a few fun ideas up our sleeves!
