NYFW 2018: Shiny Shorts
Hi everyone! I’m back with my New York content! Here’s a little info on it. So since I’m obsessed with all things NY, but more specifically, New York is a huge inspiration behind my blog and my actual style, I try to get the most out of the city when I go there. I love to use the backdrop for outfits I love so I can use it throughout the year, or if someone asks me for a photo that can sum up my ‘brand’ or style. The name City Peach was born in New York since I was a Georgia Peach living there at the time when I started my blog, and I wanted something that really spoke to who I was. So anyway, this is why I squeeze in so much content while there, mainly because the backdrop speaks to exactly who I am style wise!
This week and next I will be sharing each outfit that I wore while there, in a blog post and talk a little bit about my inspiration for each. This shiny summer dress shorts outfit was my first outfit I wore when getting to New York because the temps were up in the 90’s. I wanted to acknowledge the warmer temps but you can’t control me summer, give a nod to upcoming fall style. This is why I broke out my new favorite Marc Fisher boot and literally haven’t stopped wearing it ever since. Don’t forget you can use my code to shop anything on the Marc Fisher site and get 20% off!!! (LTD-610) I found this top at Zara and just loved the detailing and buttons, and the fact that it was different, yet neutral and simple. The dress shorts are from Zara too. A look like this does not season itself out because you can put black tights with this when the weather turns cold and you still have a very chic outfit. I would also probably put a turtleneck under this top because it’s thin and I would want it to be the top layer since the buttons need to show!
Random fact: I always gravitate towards this nude color and it does nothing for me or my complexion. So it’s always a fine line of wearing a color that might not work for me, but loving my outfit vibes. I think the shiny dress shorts help in elevating this outfit and giving it an upscale twist. I love putting together pieces you wouldn’t normally think about, and then finishing it all off with a few special accessory pops. My earrings are Lisi Lerch and you can shop them here.
