The One Top Everyone Needs For Every Occasion
Happy snow day! To those of us in Georgia, we are getting quite the snow day, it’s actually amazing out right now. This hasn’t happened since snowpocalypse where the entire city of Atlanta shut down for days. But today it seemed to go smoothly and it’s coming down in huge snowflakes! I picked up the kids early after I got my brows touched up (over on IG stories) and we came right home! Right before I picked them up I stopped at Publix and ran around like a crazy person to get everything we needed to make a homemade pizza night tonight. When we got home the kids literally couldn’t wait to play in it and we all got soaked. They loved it so much though. Now we are cozy inside and about to watch a movie with popcorn. Elston still hasn’t napped today which I’m actually mildly freaking out and perplexed as to why she hasn’t crashed yet.
Let’s talk about this amazing holiday outfit option! I’m actually so excited about it and it’s a great alternative to a dress! This lace top is my new obsession and is a top you can either wear by itself with a bralette or layer it. I have layered it under sweaters and have it peek out at the neck and sleeves, worn it under a dress, under a blazer, and now with a high waist pant by itself. The top is $40 and comes in 9 colors! I am loving the burnt orange color and of course the black, but love it ivory lace to be able to go with everything. It’s soft and stretchy as opposed to scratchy and uncomfortable like other lace tops I’ve tried in the past. And let’s quickly touch on the no bra, bralette only way of life I’m living these days. Why? Well, because basically IDGAF… but I mean, what else are you going to put under this when this is the look you are going for? I suppose you could find a padded bralette, which actually, A&F has really good ones (like this one). But I love this Free People one and I’m not going to let these AA’s stop me! Flat is in now, just ask Arielle of Something Navy (one of my idols). And if you do have some boobs, well, those are always in, so you win and will look really damn good in this bralette. SO either way, you need it!
I loved this top with a high waist pant, I can’t ever get enough high waist pants and these plaid pants so comfortable. Typically, it can be hard to find a high waist pant that is cut right to be flattering. These plaid pants are borderline, as at certain angles they look great, but the back pockets are kind of awkward, so they can also look weird if you have a butt. But the softness, warmth, and color of these wins and I really love them. They are the perfect holiday pant that can be worn a ton of different ways, dressy or casual. I will also wear these pants with a navy and white striped top, or put them with my red shoe boot for a more festive look. I definitely encourage you to try any kind of plaid pants this holiday, or anything plaid and pair it with another texture like lace. Have fun with it and mix things up!
