Peplum Oxford, All My Dreams In One Top
top and jeans c/o Madewell | shoes, older Anthro, options here and here, obsessed with these | neck scarf (similar here), Nordstrom Rack Men’s pocket scarf (style hack!) | clutch
One of my absolute favorite wardrobe necessities is the oxford shirt. Coming in second as a favorite, is anything peplum. You can imagine how excited I was when I saw this shirt, combining two items that I see as super versatile and flattering for anyone! Madewell is somewhere I always check first for anything oxford, plaid, button down, and they are also my favorite for jeans. Right now, the high waist is everywhere, and not just ‘in’, but it has become almost the norm for jean fit (thank goodness… and who thought I would say that). But especially for me, after having kids, my low-rise jeans just don’t fit the same anymore or are practical… no one wants to see that on the playground.
I will be wearing this top all winter as well. For right now, wearing it by itself is great for casual, yet the details elevate it just a bit. When it starts getting cooler out, I will be layering it with sweaters, vests, and cardigans. Since the waist is peplum, it gives the opportunity to belt it as well… and you know I won’t pass on an opportunity to belt something!
I’ve talked before, many places, about the style hack for neck scarves. I love the silk neck scarf, it will finish off your outfit with a little parisien flair and instantly make any outfit chic… you should definitely try it! So I get mine at Nordstrom Rack (you can try any store men’s section really) in the men’s tie and pocket scarf section. I’ve been doing this for years and love the color options. There are usually really great pastels and ginghams which are perfect for spring, and rich jewel tones for fall. Just make sure that the one you get will be long enough so that when you triangle it, you can tie it. They do come in different sizes and some will be a little too short.
Have a great weekend!
