I’m not quite sure if I’ve been living under a rock as far as body care OR that I’m just getting older, but I have discovered The Brazilian wax, and let me tell you, I love it! Without getting too graphic I’m going to give you all the details and facts because this legit made my life so much easier, especially in the summertime! So I was always fine with just shaving… because I didn’t know what waxing could be like haha! I think the place you go to is everything. I went to Waxing The City on Windward Parkway here in North Atlanta and saw Marcilene for my service. Marcilene was seasoned and so efficient, which I loved. Nothing surprised her as I sat there clammy and sweating, so nervous about the brazilian wax’ pain. And you are pretty much flashing a stranger, but most moms I know out there are not even phased by this since we all have sat on a table or delivery room and done the same thing for tons of strangers while birthing our babies. So that part wasn’t a big deal. But I was so nervous about the pain since I consider myself low tolerance.
They use a hard wax which just means that it hardens itself and there is no need for cloth strips or any other fuss. They put it on, distract you a little by applying two places, then tear it off! I’m going to give you the full disclosure truth on where it hurt, and it wasn’t the back part… at all! The part that hurt the most was where you have the most hair which for me was right below my C-section scar (which is still pretty sensitive). That is the only place that it really hurt! Sides of the upper leg and the bum was literally nothing! You are a little red that same day and it’s advised that you don’t swim or shower for 24 hours so nothing gets infected. Then what is a miracle for any woman I know, you don’t have to shave or literally worry about anything for 3 weeks! I was so smooth for so many days at the pool and didn’t have to do that quick shave touch up right before the pool that ends in bumps anyway! Being on the go with kids and swimming a ton this summer, a Brazialian wax is seriously a game changer. And when waxing is done consistently, hair grows back slower, finer, and more sparse.
