Summer Boss: How to Elevate your Summer Denim Shorts

Since this is my favorite blazer in life, the fit is very ‘Balmain’. I wanted to post it with a casual type outfit, to show you that you can get multiple uses out of it. It is just such a good fit AND guess what?! It’s on major sale right now, 50% off! I am actually going to go ahead and get the white one because that can truly go with everything. It also comes in a butter yellow which I do really want, I just am not sure how much I will wear it. Butter yellow is legit my favorite color, so I’m torn!

Today I paired the blazer with my favorite summer denim shorts of the season. If you are an OG blog reader, you will know that I am extremely picky about my denim shorts. Or shorts for that matter. I need them to be comfortable, actually fit, and flatter the leg.

Something I look for in summer denim shorts is that they have to be long enough but go up on the sides, because that flatters the legs. Oh and be high rise. So I literally have looked everywhere and tried too many versions. I am loving this version right now, and I did grab the white version too, which is limited online, but I loved the fit so much, I tracked them down in one of my local stores. One thing to note is that I went up 2 sizes from my normal pant size. And this is because (eye roll) the way they size shorts is ridiculous, at least for people like me. I can’t go by waist size because then that doesn’t fit my legs. So I usually have to size up so I’m not looking sausage-y… but having the high waist usually helps solve the gap. I know I’m making something simple sound like a science project, but just know, I’ve done the research!

My tank is so lightweight and ties in back, so it works for athletic wear, as well as just casual for the summer heat. It comes in a ton of colors, so take your pick for summer! I finished off this summery boss babe look with heels because you just can’t go wrong with a nude pump (maybe that needs to be my fashion tagline) and it does wonders for the legs. Oh and a fun summer beaded bag! (Mine is from Zara)
