The Art Of Stripes And Florals… Together
Not that I’m claiming that I founded this trend, but I discovered the beauty of stripes with floral long ago. Or rather, just the concept of pattern mixing in general and I truly cannot get enough of it. At this point when outfitting, styling someone, or even shopping for myself, I almost make it a point to search for the perfect pattern mash up. I absolutely love how amazing it can look if done right, and make an ordinary outfit, stand out. The key is staying within the same color family. Although, there are times when you can wear two totally random things and it just works, but typically it only works for a Moschino runway… or something outrageously similar. So when I do it, I usually stay with the same color theme, or making sure one color is consistent. I think my favorite color to do this with is camel… and probably because it reminds me of Fall and I am literally counting down the days until Fall and the greatest time of the year and life…but I digress. Let’s talk about this outfit today, which is bright, pastel-y, and totally warm weather style. I love any kind of oxford or dress shirt (Carolina Herrera post coming tomorrow and you’ll understand more of that), so a striped one has become very casual and classic. When I saw these shorts, I knew they were meant to be together, and it’s actually the same shade of pink (not that that always matters). The outfit would probably be really great with the espadrille wedges that I’m obsessed with, but on this day, it was still cool out so I was still wearing my favorite flats ever. I encourage you to try it with what you have in your own closet, or even on your next shopping trip!
