Travel: What To Pack for a Disney Trip
Well, we did Disney. It was definitely a right of passage trip, for parents as well as kids. We are also definitely rookie’s when it comes to all of it, but I learned so much along the way. We stayed on property and what is considered a Disney hotel, The Grande Floridian. I would definitely recommend this to any first timers. It was beautiful, and what everyone says about it; it’s very Disney. I loved being able to take the train or a boat straight to the Magic Kingdom Park. The restaurants there were either efficient and quick, or so so food wise. But this is coming from us that like everything to be homemade or quality ingredients. You know what you are signing up for, so we were ok with it. I am not an expert by any means, but I have a few Disney tips that I personally used.
What to Pack for a Disney Trip: Tips & Tricks
I wanted to touch on a few important things to make your Disney trip as easy as possible. I can be a light packer and basically just pack when I know I’ll need, same for with the kids. I had 2 outfits per day; a cold weather and then a warm weather outfit. We went in late November and it was a lot cooler than I would have imagined. I just did a few lightweight sweatshirts Micky/Minnie from Target, plaid shirts for when it got cooler, and leggings and shorts. I don’t make trip outfitting complicated as with young kids, that is so hard to worry about. I want cute pictures in cute outfits yes, but somewhere I tow the line with practical. So I don’t give a ton of options for any of us, and honestly, it relieves the stress from it all.
Supplies wise, we did a roll-away crib from the hotel and rented a stroller from Kingdom Strollers, to minimize our car luggage. We packed lunch food and kept it in our fridge, and easy things like fruit, peas in the pod, and applesauce. If I had to do all over again, I would do a place with a kitchen because I greatly craved good food. You are surrounded by so much junk and we did indulge a little bit, but it leaves you craving some good stuff. My in-laws stayed off property at an Airbnb condo with a kitchen, and it was so nice to have a home cooked meal one night.
I was frequently asked what bag I took into the park, and since we are still deep into diapers and wipes, a backpack is key. I had my Louis Vuitton backpack which is honestly the best style choice i’ve made in motherhood, getting this bag. So everything fit in there and that’s all I brought, plus a lunchbox that was provided by the stroller company. I make sure to have water bottles for each child, hand sanitizers, diapers, wipes (I use wipes for literally every. thing.), Motrin, sunglasses, and snacks. I can be high maintenance, but I can also be really low-maintenance and just bring what we absolutely need.
