The ‘It’ Pattern For Spring

Every now and then I take a stroll to the malls around town. I like to see what is ‘trending’ in the mainstream stores. I obviously and usually inspired by runway and who, what, wear street style, but like to combine it all when looking for outfit inspo. On a recent trip, I noticed that in every single store I went into, they had a plethora of black gingham items. From retailers like Ann Taylor, Express, Abercrombie, Madewell, Zara and Anthropologie. Literally everywhere. It caught my eye because I had already purchased this black gingham trench coat and I thought about getting crazy with a monochromatic gingham look! But for now, I went with a statement skirt. I passed on the sequin skirt Anthro came out with this past fall and regretted it ever since. So I jumped when I saw this sequin pencil one because from far away it’s kind of mermaid-ish and up close the plaid pattern shows up more. I added the lilac fishnet socks for fun and stuck with my trusty nude pumps since I was already quite eclectic looking.
