The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2018: All You Need To Know

Nordstrom-Anniversary-Sale-2018-CityPeach

What’s the 411? What’s the cool jams? In case you have been living under a rock, aren’t in blogger land, or don’t follow any bloggers, this week is one of the biggest sales of the year. Nordstrom can hold some great basic clothing items, but also some of the most sought after, trendiest items you will see all over social media. Today I want to break everything down for you, to how to shop the sale, what are the most important aspects of it, and what I look for when it comes to this specific sale in general.

The sale is kind of backwards in terms of how things happen in the retail world. New items are revealed at a sale price, and then at a certain date, go up to regular price. Usually, items sell out (a few will restock) before ever being permanently marked down and out. We don’t have to get crazy and grab absolutely everything as well. My advice is to set a budget and get what you absolutely love. Be reasonable about items that you can find elsewhere for way better prices, not getting caught up in liking it just because everyone else does. The perspective I take for this sale is this: I love the trendy pieces that are really special, that I know are a great price in general… not just for Nordstrom. If you know me, you know I love basics from Madewell, H&M, Shein, Forever 21… and basically all over. I use Nordstrom in general for cool detailed pieces, designer goods, and trendy Topshop finds. I do think they have great shoe options and that is where I see the Nordstrom sale offer really great deals worth snapping up now… about 4 months from when we can actually wear this stuff haha.

Stay tuned for try-on sessions this Thursday via instagram

Dates to know:

July 12-19: Early Access for all Nordstrom Cardholders. Items do sell out during this time and the intent (on Nordstrom’s end) is to encourage people to be a cardholder. So yes, it’s kind of like pay (join) to play. If you can do it, I would say it’s worth it if you are looking for items you will in fact get use out of this fall and winter. The savings are worth it if you are someone that is able to plan your budget ahead and truly shop ahead of season.

July 20 – August 5: Nordstrom Sale open to the public

Things to know:

  • Sale items will include women’s clothing, handbags, accessories, shoes, beauty, fitness, menswear, and some home. It can definitely be overwhelming but I hope I can help point you in the right direction and even highlight the items I think are truly special and/or a great deal.

  • I do recommend buying online and picking up in store. This gives you a bit of an advantage at inventory AND sometimes they have items that are online exclusive. You can also return right then and there if an item doesn’t fit right, or exchange for a different size. This is why that is my favorite option.

  • Like I have covered on my IG stories, if you purchase anything through my specific links whether it’s here on my blog or through Liketoknow.it, I get a small commission. This goes for any blogger with affiliate links. The internet holds something known as cookies, which basically bookmarks your computer to our codes. Here’s the deal, it doesn’t itemize. If you are shopping from multiple bloggers, the link you click on last, and then go to purchase, will be where the credit is going.

  • I am here if you have any shopping or styling questions this week! Email or DM me if you need help with outfit planning, styling, wardrobe advice, or sizing help. You can stop by the blog www.iev.yhb.mybluehost.me and clicking any of my outfit picks before heading over to Nordstrom.com to shop for yourself, or just ask me for a link specifically. This allows me to continue to run the blog. I absolutely love this job and the support you give helps, and I appreciate you being here so much!
