This season’s basics: Everything you need for your 2022 Staple Wardrobe
Every year we want a fresh start, and that includes a wardrobe. It can also be frustrating when you feel like you need everything new yet have no idea what to wear. That is where my posts come in. I hope to help you think about outfitting in a different way, a smart way. I only suggest items I highly recommend, some will be investment items, some will be that trendy piece but worth it because it’s reasonably priced, and some things will be for you to keep in mind when shopping. I love a baseline staple wardrobe so that you can grab items and still feel fashionable without trying.
2022 Staple Wardrobe Essentials:
There are a few items I’m really loving lately for the fit, and just a ‘cool casual’ look in general. I have learned that getting a million items from Target isn’t always worth it, even when you think it is initially and like the pricetag. You don’t want a lot of just so-so items that are new just to be new and don’t make you feel like a million bucks. You want quality items that truly flatter you, that you love, and feel really confident in each time you grab them. And this doesn’t always mean expensive or designer at all, just well thought out. I can find plenty of great items like this at H&M or Abercrombie, even a few select items from Target. Throw in a great pair of jeans, a handbag that goes with everything, and maybe an investment jacket.
Items I’m usually always consistently into and will buy, are a chic designer (or just trendy) sweatshirt, a great fitting pair of jeans, sheer socks for fun, fancy sneakers (Golden Goose will be here to stay for awhile and an investment pair will go with anything and up literally anything you wear), trendy handbags, ALWAYS a white oxford button down shirt, a fun pair of flats, a matching sweat outfit, and a few graphic tees. One investment item goes a long way, and elevate any outfit. I like accessorizing with items I think are really special, and leaving the basics simple. I will have an entire post dedicated to my favorite jeans and styles, but for now, I’m linking up my current favorites.
(one thing to note, I am wearing the Abercrombie white oxford button down shirt here and love how soft it is. I have this H&M one for more structure. I think this Banana Republic one is beautiful for a more dressy look. And am currently eyeing this Express one as a backup.)
