This Season’s Hottest Piece

This in between time with weather, where the holidays are over and it’s just cold until April, you might ask what is seasonally appropriate. No one wants to wear holiday colors anymore, the moment has passed. Here is what you do want to wear colorwise: strong neutrals. These neutrals include white, camel, nude, black (but with lighter colors like whites and nudes), all shades of blush. Throw in a few animal prints in there too. You will also want to start thinking about your spring pastels, but for now, neutrals is the way to go. Personally, my favorite color to wear is white, I am just drawn to that and nude… which doesn’t really do anything for my pale skintone, but I just think it looks clean and chic. So aside from colors, the item of the moment this pre-spring is the utility jumpsuit. It might not be for everyone, but it’s definitely for me. And this one is so chic, it can be for you too! I’ve seen them start to pop up everywhere from TopShop to Abercrombie & Fitch, so keep an eye out. I am sharing this white utility jumpsuit because it’s from one of my all-time favorite places to shop, BURU. Think boutiquey Anthropologie feels, and curated for the chic mom. I’ve gone on about this brand many times, but if you’re in tune with the site, you will know amazing pieces come and go, so it’s worth keeping them on your radar.

I love a jumpsuit in general, they are just so fun and flattering. The utility jumpsuit is a fun version that you can make all your own! I kept the belt that went with it, so I didn’t break up the full color silhouette. But it could have another color belt with this. I like the true utility feel on this one, and it’s really well made. Buru’s pieces are always like that, and the material is always thick and durable. Fit wise, I’m in a small and it’s perfect, but it’s a little close to not being as I have a really long torso and normally hard to fit comfortable into most jumpsuits.

To style, roll the sleeves up (so you err on the side of chic mama and not construction worker) and add a shoe boot. I suggest a chunkier shoe and I can’t explain why, it just looks best. I paired it with a pump in the mirror, and just thought it was too thin and feminine. You can also put a fun platform sneaker or heel with it! The length is perfect in that your ankle shows, which overall makes a great styled look, and not have it be frumpy at all. Ankles are key!

I threw on this really pretty dark camel coat over the entire jumpsuit, and just wanted to show you, because I love the look of a head to toe color, and then layering it with a bold coat.
