Easy Apple Dip Recipe: a Favorite Holiday Recipe To Bring To Gatherings
I’ve been decorating a little bit and cooking a favorite holiday recipes or two. But now is the time to go all out! The way I’ve been decorating for a few years now is collecting Christmas tree decor. I just love the way it looks and I’ve been lining my mantel with a bunch that I’ve found over the years. I like the shimmer and glitter ones and am always drawn to wood ones too. I added a few good sturdy wood ones to my console table along the back of our couch from Bealls Outlet (last year’s post) and I’m loving the way it looks. The kids can also not ruin it, so it’s a win win!
I’ve been getting trees here and there over the years but have found all of my wooden wooden ones at Bealls Outlet, and found more this morning! We went out for a little bit but nothing crazy. I normally go to the one in Cumming, but just discovered there is a brand new one in Dawsonville, up 400 near the outlets. It’s a lot bigger and has more of a selection. Bealls Outlet where I get a lot of name brand sportswear for Jackson, it’s at extremely affordable prices. Today I grabbed the kids a few pajama sets, Jackson got some new Nike socks, a few lanterns for our front porch and backyard, and 2 more wooden Christmas trees! So far for decor, I have my ‘pink tree up’ and we will go get a real one tonight. I just love the smell and can’t yet convert to not having a real one at all!
I’m also asked what my favorite dish to bring when we attend gatherings, or anything for that matter. I have a go-to apple dip recipe and I promise you, it will always be a hit! I could eat it by the spoonful it’s so good! But what I really love about it is that it’s not filled with junky ingredients. Yes, it’s sugar, but the base is cream cheese.
Here is the apple dip recipe below (sometimes I double it):
1 pack of Philadelphia Cream Cheese (do NOT get low-fat ever haha)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract (make sure it’s pure and not artificial)
Grannysmith apples – sliced (you want this kind because they are tart and counter the sweet dip perfectly) you can pour pineapple juice over them to help them from browning and it’s a little secret twist
Here’s a few goodies I found online:
