Traveling In Style
Well, today is Robert and my 5th anniversary. If you’ve missed our journey at all, we definitely spill all the details in this long blog series, or this post recapping our 5 years together. I want to touch on travel style because we will be checking into Hotel Avalon for the weekend, but first let’s talk about marriage. There’s a few things I have learned that stay with me, and it’s that you are always changing as a person, and as a couple. So it’s key to be aware of that, analyze it, and roll with it. You don’t want to get caught up in growing apart, the point is to grow together to create a life you love. I’ve learned that Robert is selfless when it comes to his family, and we both contain patience when the other person is out of it. Robert would not consider himself patient (which I think he is selectively). I am when it comes to the kids, but when I’ve been tested, Robert immediately senses that and acts on it, then giving the rest of what I have run out of. And vice versa. I am so thankful that we are on the same page in parenting. Like I think about that a lot and really couldn’t be the best parent if we clashed on major moral and parenting issues. I know a lot of our relationship is grown and based around the kids, but hey, that is all we know. So we continue to work on us separately from that too.
Guess what we are doing this weekend? We are going to have a staycation at Hotel at Avalon! It could truly be considered a staycation since we are literally always there. But why not experience everything there and get pampered at some of our favorite places?? I will be snapping our weekend a little bit just for fun, so follow along on Instagram. We will be checking in on Saturday, and then Sunday night, if you are around and interested, Avalon has their annual tree lighting! So come for the activities all day and stay for the lighting at night.
Aside from my easy sweater and jeans outfit, I wanted to highlight my travel style with Delsey, because they are my favorite suitcase and I love them. So I thought I would share my travel style when we checked into Hotel Avalon last time with the kiddos, and wanted to give a chic option if you are out and about town. I love an all black outfit, despite what Anna Wintour says, and like to play around with accessories like socks and scarves as accents to that.
