What To Wear In Nashville
When I went to Nashville this month, I learned that pretty much anything goes. The weather is similar to Atlanta, with a fun and upbeat feel. I packed a few things, I didn’t get too crazy, and then mixed and matched. I did pull pieces from a friend’s boutique, White Picket Boutique. The owner Christel and I went to college together and have quite the story of how we met… it was over a boy of course haha. Tons of drama and craziness, but guess who came out being friends! So anyway, she started an online boutique with really cute stuff, you have to check it out! Christel is an amazing artist in many verticals, so this is her latest endeavor.
Edit: Ok, I had a few people asking for the story. So long long ago at University of West Georgia, college Mireille met a guy at a sorority social crush party. This new guy wasn’t in a fraternity and I didn’t know his story. I say this because most guys in fraternities, you knew their dating history and if they were off limits or not. And let me preface, I always played by girl code… never mess with a guy who had a girlfriend. I started talking to this guy and we went to a haunted house with a lot of people one Halloween. I didn’t notice there were some eyes out on my aim away message and me for that matter, for a few weeks after meeting him… haha! Yes, those were how we stalked back in the day. I heard through the grapevine that Christel was his main girl and he was being sketchy. Somehow we ended up talking for hoursssss over aim and ended up loving each other. She didn’t know at the time, that I truly didn’t know about her. Once we learned all of this, we became friends and actually hung out for years after this. Now of course years passed in our separate ways after college, but we stayed in touch on social media. Since she is incredibly creative, we connected on this entrepreneur path and because of common ground with the Mart now, and I wanted to shout out her boutique. Anyway, that’s the short version of the story! There’s actually a whole other side with her best friend and my best friend in that timeframe… but that’s a whole other story.
So what should you wear in Nashville?
I thought it was appropriate to wear fun things that I don’t wear a lot of at home. A risqué plunge-neck dress (that is actually a romper) was fun for exploring downtown. You can’t ever go wrong with flowy pants, they are some of my favorite items to wear. I paired those with this black wrap top since something that that is just a lot of fabric and hard to wear around the kids. I absolutely love my Madewell sandal heels, and highly recommend at least one heeled shoe for the affect. You definitely want to wear comfortable shoes though because you will be walking a lot. Downtown is walkable, and then when you venture outside of downtown Nashville into the little pockets of shops and restaurants, you want to walk there as well. Maybe this is why most people just put cowboy boots with everything. Which is always an option!
I finished off the trip with this stunning pink jumpsuit. Normally I don’t go for something strapless, but this flattered me so much and something like this is a great option for a night out, but still moveable. I would choose this option over a dress any day because I love pants and love the movement option. Also, choose a fun bag with a fun shape, that’s not clunky, and photogenic. This will help when you are all over town but also want to stop for photo ops!
