Getting The Most Out Of A Statement Pant

I’m a huge advocate of the statement pants and of course anything that is high-waist. But if you love them, you might question when you will wear them again. It is indeed possible to get multiple uses out of a statement pant! Today we will talk about it with these plaid pants.

You’ve seen these high-waist plaid pants here. Today, I wanted to show you how I paired them with a simple little sweatshirt to change the look a little. So you can change up a loud pant a few different ways. First, you can change the top of course. But this means, changing up the style; go from dressy to casual. Then you can really change up the color. I stayed within the pastel and brighter top, but you can absolutely go darker with a black, or red top or sweater. You can also change your shoes, which can completely change up an outfit’s vibe. With this specific plaid pant pairing, I stayed with my trusty nude pumps, which is always my go-to. But I would also wear my red shoe boots with these pants for a fun colorful look. Black is always a great classic and muted way to go, as I would put a black turtleneck (or even tee) with a pair of black shoe boots. Another way to completely change this look is to wear these plaid pants with sneakers! Any kind from Adidas to just a sleek slip on would work, and then put a graphic tee or just a plain v-neck with it on top. I literally just created over 6 different outfits for you, with just one pair of pants!

In my opinion, the high-waist style is always classy and I absolutely love it! That is what originally drew me to these pants, and then I do love a good patterned pant and making a statement. These come in another pattern that were a little more holiday, but can definitely work still if you stay away from holiday red. I’ve also gotten a question before in styling about wearing high-waist with a casual shoe, and that is absolutely ok. That is actually really chic and will be so flattering because you are elongating your leg even though you have a flat foot.

This top today is LillaP, and the cutest, chicest little sweatshirt. You might have remembered when I took over their instagram last month, this was one of the looks. I wanted to give it it’s own blog post so I can explain my thought process in this outfit. I love the slouchy fit of this, but also that it’s possible to wear it more structured too, as you see I styled it both ways. I broke out my favorite bralette for a little peek of fun as well. You can’t really go wrong with this rose color, and this top has tiny threads of gold in it, taking the terry sweatshirt to another level!
