A Chic Way To Red, White, And Blue

As we gear up for Memorial Day this weekend, your attire doesn’t have to completely be t-shirts and denim shorts. Although comfortable, I wanted to show an option that is a bit elevated and perfect for a cute Memorial Day outfit. Summer pretty much constitutes wearing red, white, and blue at any time. There will be lots of opportunities for a few months to wear our classic patriotic colors, so why not step it up a notch and go a little more dressy… in case you have something fun like dinner, parties, or events to go to.

I absolutely LOVE the concept of a high waist pant, which goes perfectly with the crop tops that have come back lately. I’ve seen some really cute ones, and it doesn’t have to limited to the new-millennial-festival-goer generation. I especially love a short top and then a bottom that hits exactly below it with maybe just an inch of skin showing. Here comes my love for 2 pieces again, and today I created my own. I fell in love with this ruffle top, it’s such a beautiful classy little fun piece. It does come with a skirt which would be a cute outfit in itself, but I paired it with a classic high waist pant. I do like these because the fit is absolutely amazing, but only if you’re going to wear a high heel, platform, or wedge. I have a loyalty to a cropped pair that I have from a year ago because I can wear them with flats and easily around my kids. But if you’re in the market for a great pair of high waist pants, these will do you so many favors and flatter everything!
