Every girl needs a silk dress in her wardrobe. Is it high maintenance? Yes. But it’s classic and looks good on everyone. You of course have to worry about water, spills, wrinkles, smooth lined underwear, and probably a million other things. But having a good classic one does wonders for your investment or staple items, and is usually a great easy go-to choice when dressing for an occasion. A silk dress flows and moves with you and you can wear it with tights in the winter, or bare legs in the spring. I am obsessed with the detailing on this one, it is pure perfection in the tailoring. I love where the sleeves hit and how they flare out at just the right place. Although Abbey Glass is a favorite of mine, I genuinely cannot recommend this one enough. And that is why all her items are worth the price. They are extremely well made and even more well designed. I would recommend a nude or black silk dress as a staple, but colors are really fun too in the spring. Banana Republic did a really beautiful magenta one a few years ago, and in the spring, they have some great color options. I winterized this Abbey Glass silk dress for now, with a fur vest and velvet booties. I will also wear this in the spring with a pump or wedge. I also have a black silk dress that is my all time absolute favorite piece of clothing I own. It’s literally 7 years old and still relevant. I got it at Urban Outfitters, so the price wasn’t too bad, but the style is so classic. I accidentally washed it years ago and it shrunk, so I can’t wear it without tights or leather pants, but you will definitely see me style it into my wardrobe here and there and I will keep it forever. Have I convinced you that you need this wardrobe staple? Is there any items you feel this strongly about in your own wardrobe?
