Kid Birthday Parties At Home Is The New Trend

After doing two huge kid birthday parties at places last year for the kids’ 3rd and 5th birthdays, we wanted something smaller and more low-key this year… oh and at home. As much as I love a jump place and someone else to clean up the mess, I don’t love the germs, not getting to talk to any adults period, run after my kids so I don’t lose them in a foreign place, and pay exorbitant amounts of money. This year we opted for something at home with a few friends. With Elston turning 4, we wanted something special, and intimate where we could just hang out and talk to our friends. Trust me, she still had the time of her life. We had ImagineThat Entertainment come in and basically set up a party for us in our house with the best at home kid birthday party essentials. We didn’t have to build or decorate anything and it was glorious. They provide tents for sleepovers (probably for ages a bit older than this year for us), decor, favors that go with the theme and activities, AND can arrange princess visits. I mean, this is everything you want and will want when planning your next kid birthday parties.

We woke up early Saturday morning and headed to the North Georgia mountains because for her birthday wish, Elston wanted to ride and ‘hug’ a horse. So Robert being the best #girldad I know, he made it happen. We got a private ride and lesson, and it was so beautiful there!

When we got home, Kim and her husband were already set up with the cutest tents to surprise Elston. They come to your house and do it all, you can be there or not. There are themes to choose from, so she has princesses, mermaids, superheroes, etc… but we went with unicorns. Everything down to the last detail is thought of from a parent’s perspective. Obviously, the kids were just obsessed with the tents and slept in them that night (more on this in a min). I wanted to highlight this amazing company, because Imagine That Entertainment is a new company and doing a ton of cool parties in Atlanta. It’s not just limited to children’s birthday parties, they were recently the design behind the new OVME medspa grand opening in East Cobb. So if you have any kind of at home party that you want dessert trays or customized decor for, they are your people to call!

Kim is an entrepreneur, and successfully building this business from the ground up. She started ImagineThat after having her second daughter and leaving the medical industry, wanting to create a lifestyle more conducive to the motherhood she wanted. I can relate to this so much! Follow them on Instagram for all the events and happenings, and HERE is the website. They are extremely catering to whatever you want, with an eye for the things that adults love and appreciate like decor and princess connections. We had lighting, lanterns, child activities, and all the sleepover essentials. We had little packs of lipgloss and nail kits, to make Elston and her friends feel like they were at a sleepover, and was cool because it was usable that the kids could take home too. Jackson got his own tent, complete with a superhero pattern. Imagine That can also arrange princess visits, as they partner with Atlanta Character Parties. This was truly amazing because they provide the entertainment, and it was so perfect for little girls. I mean, they ARE the entertainment. We had Rapunzel visit us and while she was here, she did glitter tattoos for everyone, and sang songs with them. I mean, she had their attention the whole time! We ended up seeing her again (which made Elston’s life) at our friend Elle’s birthday party a week later. So everyone knows about them, and if you didn’t already, now you do. They are a great idea and contact to keep on hand for kids! Check them out HERE.

Since we aren’t quite at the sleepover stage yet with Elston’s age and friends, when our friends left, both kids had us take their tents to their rooms to sleep in them. And you know how I lay with Elston every night? Well, I was laying (very pregnant) on the floor with her outside her little tent holding her hand as she fell asleep smiling to the twinkling lights on her very own birthday tent.

Thank you to Imagine That Entertainment for creating the best birthday for Elston, you thought of everything down to a personalized unicorn shirt. Thank you to Atlanta Character Parties for having Elston’s favorite princess Rapunzel visit us. She is still talking about how the ‘real Rapunzel visited our house and gave her a glitter tattoo’.
