Breakfast Mornings In

On weekends, when we have no plans, one of my favorite things to do is make our favorite homemade waffles for breakfast and have lazy mornings in. The kids love to help cook, no matter what. It’s been rewarding to let go of my worry of a mess and control, and just let them help. It makes them so happy.

Recently, we had Miriam of Miriam Hoffman Photography, come and capture one of those mornings and it’s probably my most favorite content we will have forever. It’s us, at home, in our natural routine. And for me, as a content creator that constantly has photos of us, this was able to capture real memories. Not that our usual photos aren’t real. But sometimes they serve a purpose or are tied to a campaign, which is so fun and I am grateful to be able to tie in my family to work. A shoot like this, is strictly for our own memories and to have for us. Miriam is incredibly talented and if you are looking for a family photographer, she is your girl. She is so good at capturing true life! You can check out a shoot she did for my friend Katie on her blog HERE. Miriam literally captures the details of your life that you want and want to remember without having to pose for it, and you don’t even know it.

Watch this video from our morning at home and you will absolutely see that!

Keep scrolling for some of our moments at home cooking. We usually make waffles on the weekend, a recipe my own mom has made during my childhood. It’s seriously a special one because it began the trend of my kids not needing syrup on their waffles which is an overall parenting win on my part (you guys know how I feel about too much sugar). The recipe basically has just enough sugar to make it the perfect sweet, vanilla extract for the best flavor, and whipped egg whites for fluff!
