Meal Prep and Menu Ideas for the School Year

School year survival mode means family meal prep. I cannot say this strongly enough because we experience crazy disorganized chaos if we don’t! My Walmart+ membership is helping with this by breaking down the organization process, but allowing me to sit, think, and place my order through the Walmart app, then have it delivered to my door! It’s free same-day delivery with fresh, high-quality groceries. ($35 minimum, restrictions apply)

I wanted to share with you some of our go-to meals for the week and nights that we cook. I figured these quick ideas are so helpful to meal plan yourself, or have you use some of these ideas when thinking about your own menu. I love hearing what other people are making because it broadens our menu, and sometimes we get stuck in the same meal ruts, so we definitely need that!

Family Meal Prep and Menu Ideas

These are our kid-friendly meals that currently work for us, although the don’t eat the salmon one. But we rotate these ideas. I would love to hear yours and expand our palettes!

Zucchini noodles with chickpea spaghetti noodles and sweet italian sausage medallions

Dutch baby

Kabobs

Teriyaki salmon with rice and broccoli

Avocado Toast with fruit on the side

Squash Casserole with grilled cheese

Chicken Parmesan

scrambled egg tacos with avocado OR scrambled egg sandwich with ketchup and mayo

homemade pizza (at least we control the ingredients)

By having Walmart+ free delivery, I don’t have to go out, put anyone in a carseat, or lug groceries from my car. Having exactly what I need delivered allows us to have an organized family dinner, and in turn we can spend more quality time together at night, which is typically our most chaotic hours of the day.

Some other fun tools for dinner to create a fun eating experience is food on toothpicks or cute animal picks like these that we’ve been using for years!) We love kid friendly plates that organize food (I mean I would still eat off these as an adult because no food touching forever lol). Here are great food dividers too! I’m all about a cute plate and making dinner appealing! I kid you not, those little animal picks make my kids eat their dinner. I don’t use them all the time, just when the food is something different or when I know I’ll need a little nudge to try something new.

I highly recommend Walmart+ for your grocery delivery to solve your meal planning and dinner craziness during the week! Delivery is free with a minimum order of $35, and saves so much time. I was very impressed at the quality of the organic produce and the options available for this.
