My 10 Most Recommended Wardrobe Basics

If you know me well, or read this blog, you probably already know what my wardrobe basics are. I don’t waver when it comes to favorites, because I swear by them! I also don’t buy a lot just for the hell of it even though it seems like I could because I’m a fashion blogger, or it also seems like most bloggers are always gushing about something different. This post is dedicated to the ride-or-die items that I highly recommend and wear for YEARS, or certain styles that I update every year and that everyone should have in their closets.

A lot of people including styling clients ask me often, what are good basics to have, what can they just grab one day and feel on trend and stylish without thinking about it. Well, here there are:

My 10 Most Recommended Wardrobe Basics

Madewell Demi-boot jeans: I gush all the time about these and these are truly magical. I mean I’ve posted on them a tonnnn. They fit every body type and will flatter you no.matter.what.

A navy striped top: always a basic, wear with jeans, skirts, and every single color and pattern invented

Pleated skirt: everyone should try one, you can dress it business casual for the office, or with a leather/suede jacket for out, or a slouchy sweater for brunch/shower.

Nude pumps: I have many posts dedicated to this. Have a nice pair and you can’t go wrong

Princess/Puff sleeved shirt: very on trend now, and so feminine and flattering, pairing them with a simple jean will make you feel dressed up and chic in any situation

Stylish athletic shoe: I love a sleek shoe like the Nike Cortez. These are usually my go-to’s because they aren’t clunky, yet you can wear them with leggings, yoga pants, jeans, and even skirts and dresses.

Cropped jacket: whether it’s denim, quilted, a bomber jacket, or suede moto, get one. You can throw this over a tee

Graphic tee: Have one, or have a few. They are trendy but will always go with a jean and heels, OR tucked in and tied with a midi skirt. Free People usually have my favorite because I like subtle, not too cheesy, and a loose-ish fit.

Long Blazer: you need one, period. With the style being longer, you can belt it on the outside with any bottom, or wear it with skinny pants, jeans, leggings.

One nice handbag: You know my styling recommendation and recipe for chic is to invest in shoes and bags. The rest can be low-budget and affordable. Your outfit will always look high-end when adding the last touch of a nice handbag. Even if you only have one. OR shop resale sites like eBay, Rebag, or TheRealReal. If you get sick of it, you can always trade it out. My personal favorite styles are ones that are crossbody, but large enough to be a mom-bag. Neverfulls are great and all, but I like slingly a bag across my body and having hands completely free.

Here’s a little compilation of items I just listed for you!
