NYFW: Layering And My Buru Pants

I’m back in Atlanta and am slowly compiling all my Fashion Week outfits and activities to share with you. You probably know by now, that NYFW is just my getaway. It’s something I personally love to do for the fashion, the shows, the food, and the city! I basically grind it out during the year, and this is my opportunity to award myself. Which is of course is a twist because I actually am working the entire time, barely get any rest, and barely eat. And I work hard to maintain relationships or show connections, so just getting to go is the big payoff for me.

Today’s outfit is one I wore to a few shows on Saturday, and a night out at a rooftop bar. I incorporated my favorite layering tactics along with color combos and just went with it. These pants are part of the new Buru line, and just like everything Morgan has, they fit like a dream. I’m interested to wear them down here, because they did have a lot of static cling because they are literally fleecy and lined on the inside so they did keep me incredibly warm! They have a great high waist and built in belt that is very flattering. There is some white stitching for accenting, and some in the front which also gives it a flattering fit. They are also the perfect length that they don’t drag on the ground (and I’m 5’8″).

I threw on my favorite hot pink sweater and layered with a sheer polka dot top underneath, because I am really into the neck bow. It’s actually called a ‘pussy bow’ (do I even want SEO to pick up on these words??). And did you know that in the textile world, a sweater is called a jumper? Now you know so much more than you did 5 minutes ago. Hot pink is actually one of my favorite colors to wear and style, next to white. I’m drawn to both of these colors when shopping for myself and outfitting anything or anyone. I just feel like both do so much for you! I finished the look off with leather gloves because you just have to in the cold wind in NYC, and my new favorite Marc Fisher pointed toe booties! They are kind of an updated version of the ones I wore all fall that are no longer available. These have the same look, and I might like them more only because they zip up rather than shoving my foot in like I did to the other ones. And they have little perforations so they will be great in the spring with dresses too. Don’t forget you can always get 20% off Marc Fisher anything from the site, just use my code!

Here are a few shots with Ashley, we figured we would create a little #stylehasnosize content while we were there. She literally killed it at Fashion Week this season, if you aren’t following her yet, she is one you will want to follow for so many reasons. Her style is awesome, she is so creative, and she has real life stories. She talks to her audience like she talks to her best friend. Check her out!
