One of my favorite outfits of all time: the monochromatic pleated skirt and top

If you scroll my blog categories on the side, for pleated skirt you will see the plethora of posts that I’ve done on this. The pleated skirt is one of my favorite outfit items of all time, but especially in a monochromatic outfit. I first did this outfit in New York, with a similar color pink, but have also since done it with many other colors. It’s an easy and comfortable way to look completely put together.

Monochromatic Pleated Skirt Outfit

I chose this pretty color from a random stroll through Target… or actually I guess I should say, Target told me I needed this so I loaded it up in the cart, lol! I am really impressed with Target lately, they seem to have some really pretty things and very on trend. Above all, things that fit well. In the past I’ve noticed I would like the style or the color, but the fit would always be off, so this is a great thing in my opinion.

With this monochromatic top and skirt, I wanted to show it to you with a classic heeled sandal and then a sneaker. This is my favorite heel ever, and it’s actually comfortable. It’s an investment, but I actually found mine on sale last year on Amazon. I think it was a fluke but I bought them right under $200. On a staple like this, I am sometimes picky. I liked the very thin strap on these Stuart Weitzman’s where others like the Schutz brand and all the others (Steve Madden, Target, etc. etc.) have a thicker strap. I just overall liked the elegant look of these and wasn’t going to budge. But they will be with me for a very long time and will go with literally any outfit ever. So there ya go!

So then, let’s change it up and add a sneaker, making this comfortable outfit even better. The Golden Goose sneakers are on-trend of course, and I’ve had friends push-back about them. Here’s the deal, it’s a trend. They are hand-made Italian leather and you do get what you pay for. I love mine and I love having at least one item for every trend. To each their own, they will be in for awhile, so if you are on the fence, just do it. You will love them and you can basically consider these a dress shoe too, as you can pair them with anything as well. I mean, money talks hunny… jkjk. But truly high fashion stuff you can put with just about any outfit and it works.
