How To Reorganize Your Pantry In The Easiest Way Possible

Thank you California Closets for
sponsoring this post.

Being able to organize my house is something always on my list, but as a mother of two toddlers, can feel overwhelming when looking at it as a whole. I would literally organize every room today if I had the time, and sometimes looking at it, I never know where to start, so it gets put on the back burner, thus the whole cycle of being overwhelmed. I recently teamed up with California Closets to start the conversation on organization and in the process learned a lot with tips, but also how to knock out small places and in turn, feel better about our living space.

When starting this journey, one of the top spaces on my list is my closet. However, we are not in our forever home just yet, so I am holding out before I create my dream closet. I met with the welcoming and warm Alpharetta California Closets team – Manager Julie Little and designer Kim Childress-Evans, in their beautiful showroom and discussed how to create a space you love in your own home. I decided to redo our pantry because as you can see from the below photos, it definitely needed it. Our pantry is somewhere we all hang out daily, and if you’re our kids, hourly. Why not have a space we use and look at the most frequently, be a happy place that is easy to use and navigate. I cannot express how therapeutic it was to clean it out and completely organize it in a way that brought me calmness. This was a perfect example of how taking control of little spaces in your life and making them better, allows you to be more productive and live a happier life, which is the exact philosophy of Marie Kondo, organizing expert that is currently collaborating with California Closets. She believes that the process of organizing and tidying your own space is truly life changing. Even with just starting with my pantry, this is so true!

I learned a few great tips from the California Closets team that I applied to redoing our pantry space that I will also use for the rest of our house in stages.

  • Use baskets and drawers to your advantage
  • Use all your space, build up if you have to. Don’t leave empty space that can be utilized. In the end, your space can be doubled
  • Plan methodically
  • Think of organization as a lifestyle change.
  • It is absolutely possible to be organized to better your life without spending too much

The main things I did in my pantry organization process was to utilize space and materials. Pretty baskets really do make a different. So does keeping it uniform, so I chose the same containers for specific foods. The black labels with the white writing step it up a notch and truly help with being able to find things as well as keep certain items together. If you really want to up your game, you can buy pretty La Croix cans to add a little pizazz. Color coding cereal boxes could be fun too, however I’m sure with kids, the organization there might not last as long.

If you are interested in reworking your own space, CC is not just limited to closets. They make beautiful mudrooms and you don’t even have to have an actual mudroom! I’m thinking of making a makeshift mudroom space with just a blank wall right outside of our garage door entryway. They can do any kind of closet, pantries, closets, wall units, and laundry rooms. They don’t knock out walls, but are all about utilizing the space you have. California Closets is the best of the best which is apparent in the way they train their designers and uphold their standard product. Their clients are not driven by price alone, and they are driven by building rapport with a client. The intent to design something useful and personal is to not create sticker shock, but a change that is completely in line with the customer’s budget. So it can literally be any price point, and then designing within that. The process is fairly simple where they can come out to you to see your space, or you can visit a showroom. You are able to browse examples and inspo on an ipad and they can create something just for you, as you both together can alter it in the moment, based on what you want. The entire process can range from 4-6 weeks (sometimes based on product availability), but the actual install can take just 1 to 2 days.

In seeing how California Closets works and the results they create for clients, they will be the first to get my call when we tackle my closet project. I hope to bring you guys along for the ride when that time comes, so for now, I hope you enjoy our pantry and are inspired to tackle your own!
