Top 5 Low Maintenance Makeup Products

Ok actually, I feel like I need to clarify, this means low-maintenance in that as a mom there is no time, and I need an easy makeup routine. I also guess I am considered low-maintenance in the makeup department in that I could literally only survive with mascara for the rest of my life and be fine. Or better yet, lash extensions, then I don’t have to do anything! But since I’m a true Gemini, I also love playing with makeup if I’m at Sephora, and I love watching beauty bloggers put it on in videos… but the reality is, when it comes to my own face, I hate the feeling of it being on my face AND I loathe taking it all off. So that is where I’m low maintenance, definitely not emotionally lololol Robert, sorry.

My Favorite Low Maintenance Makeup Products:

I figured since most moms out there love to play in makeup as well, but don’t always have the time, I broke it down to my favorite 5 low maintenance makeup products that can get you a ‘flawless in 5’ minute face that is also not heavy! I’m sure so many of us out there need a good easy makeup routine! I was recently sent a Charlotte Tilbury box of goodies to try and I was skeptical because I don’t like heavy makeup. Well, they had sent the best neutral colors that really worked for my skin tone. It truly is high-end makeup and I ended up loving the brand. I don’t use it all on a regular basis because like I said, I need light and easy. The item that I do use every day and would 100% buy myself and will when I run out, is the liquid eyeliner. I have never seen a tip so precise which is so helpful because I cannot do my own makeup well, and this eyeliner specifically enables me to do a cat eye winged liner! The blush is great too, soft and subtle.

As for actual face makeup, all I do is concealer and foundation and that is only when I go out… otherwise I just brave it naked face and hope for the best. There are a few reasons I am a Beauty Counter consultant, but I have tried every foundation out there and used this one over them all, long before I even signed up with the company. I obviously believe in their mission and love that every product is free of toxins. This was always important to me because my kids are little and touch my face, or even Elston plays in my makeup brushes, so I for sure want something that is ok if it touches their skin. But when it comes down to the actual product, this tint skin foundation is so light, I don’t ever feel like I am wearing anything on my skin. And that is major because I hate the feeling of anything on my face. It gives a dewy finish too and I can honestly say it works well with my oily skin.

I’ll quickly touch on mascara, because it’s nothing exciting, but I’ve used the same brand pretty much my entire life and continue to go back. This is what I look for in a mascara: tons of volume, thickening, non-waterproof, not-sticky, not-flakey, Tammy Faye Baker style results. I have tried every single mascara that has been made from Chanel and a ton of high-end, to natural, trendy brands, to drug store. I started using it at age 15, strayed to try everything on the market, and have gone back to this one every time, ole faithful!

So without further ado, here are my top 5 low maintenance makeup products!

Both Charlotte Tilbury and Beauty Counter make a great red lipstick, if you have time for that… which most of us do not in every day life, but you need a go-to when that special time actually does come! They are very different too, and I like both. Charlotte Tilbury is matte, goes on easy and stays on. Beauty Counter is creamy and isn’t too heavy. I wear both for very different things. I pretty much use Beauty Counter in my every day life or around my kids, and then anything else I use for events, photo shoots, or special occasions. I never stray from the basics though, these are my ride-or-die items above, everything else is just fun to try! I try to keep an easy makeup routine no matter what, because after all, clothes are my 1st love.

I hope this is helpful, especially from someone that needs a non-complicated routine! I will do my actual ‘get ready with me’ soon on Instagram stories!
