The Easiest Way To Elevate Your Tank Top And Shorts This Summer

It’s hot, you only want to wear cotton or cool fabrics. But what happens when you need to take that look into night, or spice up a summer concert outfit? I have the perfect solution: the kimono! And I love adding a few things to it as opposed to just draping it over you and going. I love belting a kimono because it helps keep it in place first of all, and second, it can add some shape. Even if you’re wearing destroyed denim shorts which is the classic American summer item, you can easily dress that up with a kimono and a pair of wedges. As you might know, my favorite wedges are the Marc Fisher ones for so many reasons. They are absolutely the most comfortable wedge you will ever wear. They come in an array of colors and styles, and they look really good with just about anything. I love wearing mine with jeans but they work with anything short too. I can safely say that I’ve had mine for 2 years now and get so much use out of them, so the price is definitely worth it! I’ve also walked a lot in them as well, and since it’s a little more of a platform than some heels, your foot isn’t too terribly arched.

I am wearing a favorite denim short here from Abercrombie, for a great price. My belt bag was a fun twist instead of a belt, but if looking for the perfect belt, I love Anthropologie’s belts. They usually have the best looking ones in shimmer, chrome, wrap belts, or cool eclectic ones and they last for years. If you need the perfect summer outfit that takes you from day into night, this is it. Just accessorize with wedges, a belt or belt/bag, and a great layering necklace. It’s not too much for the summer heat, but still elevates your look… until we can all go ALLLLL out for fall. Because in the fall, more is more… (I know I’m probably one of the only people that count down till fall) but I’m going to dress you in the best ways to survive summer and still look stylish!

You can shop my outfit below in my ‘shop the post’ widget! My kimono is from South Moon Under and in stores, just not on their website. Sometimes this happens where they have amazing selections in their stores. I did link a few of my absolute favorite ones below though!

Also, if you flip through this summer’s Jezebel edition, you’ll see this outfit! And actually you’ll see me a few times… I was busy this spring and Jezebel was there for all events!
